Membership to House 215 is exclusively for students of the University of Pennsylvania.
While we primarily work with pre-established DJ talent to extend their reach in Philadelphia and beyond, House 215 also extends its hand to those who showcase the artistry and prowess that align with our mission. Our members benefit from our promotional efforts in both PA & NY's dynamic nightlife, and paid performances at House 215 events and events of our partners.
Membership-Via-Application Prerequisites:
We honor commitment and skill. Aspiring members should have a foundational knowledge of:
Mastery of PIONEER MIXER DJM-A9 or its equivalent: I/O types, levels, and crossfader.
Mastery of CDJ-3000 / CDJ-2000NXS2 or similar, including EQ.
An understanding of audio quality.
Competency in library management software to USB or its counterpart.
The ability to beat-match by ear.
A flair for creativity in music & performance: encompassing EQ, keys/harmony, loops, beat & color FX, etc.
A keen sense and control of emotional dynamics and audience dynamics, leadership & connection in sets.
Application Process:
Our dedicated Applications Committee manages all applications. The journey begins with a brief interview, progressing to an in-person display of your DJing skills using professional equipment. Remember, we're searching for passion and artistry; perfection is secondary. If at first you don't succeed, you're welcome to re-apply.
